Flatplan vs Front Cover Now

In this post I am going to show you my flatplan and what my front cover actually looks like.

Here is my Flatplan and Front Cover:

Masthead: I changed the masthead (shown in my cover layout prezi) because the one on the in the flatplan didn't look as mature as the one that is actually on my front cover. I have still incorporated the crown from the first one its just a more mature looking crown as the original one looked childish. I have also changed the font of my masthead because I felt that a font that was blocked looked better and when I asked my target audience what they thought they also agreed that the font in the right image looked better than in the one on the left. Regarding the layout of my masthead, I made the POP smaller and go downwards because I thought it looked better especially with the crown on the Q.

Artist Image: On my flatplan the artist was supposed to be on the right with one hand on her head and the other on her hip. However when I put the image into Photoshop I preferred the image where she had her left hand in her hair and her right hand on her hip. I think this allowed for a more older look as most of the magazines I took inspiration from are aimed at younger teenagers. I also think that the image looks good with the masthead well and the features fit nicely around and on the image more in this pose.

Features: I have decided to take out my fashion item as this isn't really relevant to a Pop magazine. I also think that the image that was going to be on the left side under the masthead won't be there on the final cover because I don't want my cover to look crowded and plus I will have five images plus the artist image on my front cover anyway. I haven't decided yet whether to have the Free Gift in the corner yet or to maybe move it somewhere else on the front cover.

Text: My artists name was going to be written across her but this was hard to achieve because of what she was wearing so I have moved her name to the left bottom just above my posters box. I think this looks better and will give better view of my artist.
