Analysis: The video above is my focus group where I asked three girls their thoughts on the front covers and contents of three magazines. From this video, I know have a wider knowledge of what my target audience thinks about magazine covers and magazine contents. The magazine they preferred was Q as it was simple and the artist on the front was relevant to the genre of music the magazine was. This focus group and the other research I conducted has helped me see what I need to include/incorporate into my own magazine front cover.
Market Research Key Points:
1. I am going to include a FREE gift as I noticed that this seemed to be a recurring theme when I was conducting my market research.
2. I noticed from my market research that there weren't a lot of Pop magazines and also that the Pop magazines that were there were very childish. I will be aiming to create a Pop magazines for older teens but still having elements of Pop in it.
Audience Research Key Points:
1. My target audience liked bright, vibrant colour, so I will be incorporating this into my colour scheme.
2. My target audience didn't like the chaotic and messy front covers so I will be making my front cover not as crowded as I can but not losing the element of a Pop magazine as well.
